Prompt 4 - Check Mate!

I particularly like this one!  I mean I love chess.. and I think characters being transformed into living chess pieces is almost a sci-fi / fantasy staple!

I can just see a powerful alien force manipulating the crew!

But the question is... who is the queen?!

(I think it's Kirk '.~, so sue me).
